Chesterfield Park

Part of the play equipment at Chesterfield Park. It, like everything in Springfield, is covered with ice. We have been frozen since last Friday, and it is supposed to get above freezing this Friday only to dip back down over the weekend. More ice storm photos are posted on my other blogs (see links on right.)

i love the icicles! this reminds me of when i was growing up (wisconsin). if you shot in raw, single-exposure HDR may allow you to get some more detail out of the clouds in the corners.

Hi Elaine,

When I saw this I thought "I'd like to see some close ups of those icicles"... then I visited your other blog. The images there are excellent.

Brrr, just looking makes me feel cold! Those icicles are amazing and the light gives it an otherworldly look, very nice shot.

Dark and brooding in a way that makes me feel the cold. Great shot.

I like the emotional content of this image...the heavy clouds and the dull gray light, contrasted with the brighter icicles. The jumble of pipes and other playground items gives this a moody feel to it. Well done.

Oh yeah! I remember those ice storms from growing up in Columbia. We've been cold and icy here in Colorado too - more snowy than icy, but I remember those storms that coated everything with ice. Great work!!
